Spartan CC’s Innings
In the KT20 Canada 2025 semi final clash, Brampton Pacers put in a stellar performance to beat Spartan CC by six wickets and qualify for the final. The Spartan CC were not able to gain any momentum with the bat even as captain Vaibhav Saini played a balanced innings. For losing Murugesan for a duck off Harmeet Singh, however, the Spartans could never quite recover. Saini tried to steady the innings with a 47 off 44 balls, but a failure from the other end made the task difficult. Wickets kept falling at a regular pace, with Gurpal Sidhu doing the maximum damage by taking three wickets for a mere eight runs in his two overs. Harmeet Singh also contributed two wickets, keeping a tight economy rate. Spartan CC managed only 148 for 6 in their 20 overs, way short of par for a knockout match.
Brampton Pacers’ Innings
Brampton Pacers made short work of the reply. Harsh Thakker provided them with a blazing start before being run out for 12. Then, Gunasekera took over, scoring a masterful 53 not out off 34 balls. His stroke play was neat and solid, and he picked boundaries with great ease. He was ably aided by Harsharan Singh, who contributed 33, and then by Parvesh Ahuja, who left the opposition stunned with an sublime 40 off only 14 deliveries, hitting five huge sixes on his way. Despite Karthik Gattepalli taking two late wickets, it proved to be too little, too late for Spartan CC. Brampton pursued the target under 15 overs, closing at 151 for 4 and clinching a clinical win.
The game was a show of total dominance by Brampton Pacers in every department. Their bowlers held the Spartans back, and their batsmen hunted down the target ruthlessly. For Spartan CC, the failure to form partnerships and struggling with bowling on the day mattered dearly. With this dominating victory, Brampton Pacers now enter the final with momentum and confidence, appearing to be the team to beat.
