A group of investors, including Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), is launching a $5 billion basketball league across Asia and Europe. The league will feature six men’s and six women’s teams competing in eight cities, with potential locations in Macau, Singapore, and Europe.

Top investors, including Byron Deeter, Quiet Capital, Maverick Carter, and Skype co-founder Geoff Prentice, are backing the project. The league aims to attract elite global players and expand basketball’s international reach.

Strategic partners include Saudi events company Sela and Macau’s Galaxy Entertainment. Singapore’s Ministry of Culture, Community, and Youth has also shown interest in hosting the league’s headquarters. If successful, this league could become a serious competitor to the NBA.
