In a masterclass of batting and domination, Riverview Rangers rewrote the record books in CNB One Day cricket, scoring an astonishing 480 runs for five wickets in 50 overs to hand Saint John Warriors a humiliating defeat. The Warriors were bowled out for 151 in just 31.1 overs, falling short by a staggering 329 runs.

The Rangers’ innings started at a blistering pace with openers Dinesh Plawat and Tarun Patel setting the tone. Plawat scored a quick 76 runs from 52 balls while Patel added 78 from 54 deliveries, putting the Warriors under immense pressure from the very start. Their aggressive approach laid the foundation for a record-breaking total.

The momentum did not stop with the openers. Gurveer Singh came in and delivered a stunning innings of 114 runs from 74 balls, blending power and precision. Later in the innings, Kunal Shah, batting at number six, launched a remarkable assault, scoring 104 from just 58 balls, taking the Rangers total to unprecedented heights. Every player in the middle order contributed to maintaining the scoring rate and ensuring no letup in pressure on the Warriors.

Saint John Warriors, in contrast, were never able to find their rhythm. Only Vishal Gedia offered some resistance with a score of 30. The rest of the batting lineup struggled to make an impact as no one crossed 20 runs. Extras (45) ended up being the highest scorer for the Warriors, highlighting the dominance of the Rangers bowling and fielding.

The combination of explosive batting and disciplined bowling proved too much for the Warriors. With such performances, the Rangers are now firmly establishing themselves as one of the most formidable teams in the competition.

The match will be remembered for the sheer scale of the total, the individual brilliance of the batsmen, and the complete dominance over their opponents. Riverview Rangers have set a new benchmark in CNB One Day cricket and will be a team that no opponent will take lightly in the coming season.
