In the second game of the Euro T20 Cup 2025, hosts Poland stamped their authority with a resounding victory over Ukraine, kickstarting their campaign in style.

Winning the toss, Ukraine opted to bowl first—a decision that backfired quickly. Despite losing two early wickets, Poland’s top order found momentum early, thanks to a composed innings from skipper Charanjeet Mohan, who anchored the innings with a steady 57 off 45 balls. He was ably supported by Khizar Ali Shah, who added a brisk 38 off 25 deliveries, keeping the scoreboard ticking.

But the innings truly came alive with a power-packed cameo from Jobin Dominic, who turned the game on its head with a blazing 55 off just 23 balls, including 3 sixes and 6 boundaries. His fireworks in the latter half of the innings pushed Poland to a commanding total. Ukraine’s bowlers were unable to apply any pressure, with none finishing with an economy under 8.

In response, Ukraine’s chase never really took off. Poland rotated their bowlers smartly, using nearly their full bowling arsenal, but it was Fahad Shakeel who stole the show with the ball. His spell was clinical—3 overs, 3 wickets for just 4 runs, breaking the back of Ukraine’s top order and dashing any hopes of a comeback.

The one-sided affair ended with Poland comfortably defending their total, announcing themselves as strong contenders on home soil. With this emphatic win, the hosts are off to a flying start in the Euro T20 Cup 2025.
