St. John’s, NL – May 21, 2025 — NL Stars’ batters Mudassir Hussain and Golamkabid Efaz put together the highest partnership in Cricket NL’s T10 League history, adding 102 runs for the first wicket in a group stage match against NL Hurricanes over the weekend.

Batting first, the Stars got off to a strong start thanks to a composed and attacking display from the opening pair. Mudassir top-scored with 69 off 32 deliveries, striking eight sixes and one four, while Golamkabid contributed 37 off 21 balls with five boundaries. The pair batted through the majority of the 10 overs, helping their side post a competitive total.

Despite the solid platform, NL Stars could not defend the target. The NL Hurricanes chased down the total in the final over, sealing a narrow win in what turned out to be a tightly contested match.

While the result didn’t go in NL Stars’ favor, the 102-run partnership was a notable achievement — the highest ever in the Cricket NL T10 League. It was also one of the few century stands recorded in the across formats locally.
