Wolves Ready to Defend the Throne
After back to back title wins in 2023 and another major trophy in 2024, NL Wolves return to the field this summer with the same hunger and a squad that has already proven itself. This team has become known for playing smart cricket, staying calm under pressure, and showing up when it matters most.
Led by Akash Deep Singh, the Wolves are not just chasing trophies anymore. They are trying to build a legacy.
Top Order Strength: Smart Partnerships and Fast Starts
Amandeep Singh and Harman Sidhu are expected to open once again this season. Amandeep is one of the most reliable batters in Newfoundland cricket. He has scored over 2000 runs for the Wolves and is known for building the innings and batting deep. He was briefly pushed down the order but will now open again with Gurman Khurana not in the squad.
Harman Sidhu is the aggressive option. With a strike rate of more than 150, he plays with intent and is usually sent in to attack right away. Together, they balance each other well.
At one down or two down, the captain Akash Deep Singh has been the most consistent force for the Wolves. He has scored more than 3000 runs in club cricket, including four hundreds. His strike rate is around 140 and he is known for handling pressure and winning games when they look difficult.
Middle Order and New Energy
One of the rising names in the Wolves squad is Yuvraj Singh. He is young, fearless, and adds that extra firepower in the middle overs. He is our PLAYER TO WATCH for NL Wolves this season.
Amitoj Singh will take up the wicketkeeping role again but will also play a very stable middle order role.
Fielding: Fast Hands and Sharp Minds
Amitoj Singh is close to reaching 50 dismissals and has grown into one of the safest keepers in the league. His chatty presence and tidy glove work give the Wolves an extra edge. Fielding is one of the biggest strengths of this squad. Akash Deep has taken over 100 catches and is always in the game. Aryan Falke, Harman Sidhu and Prabh Majithia are also quick movers who save runs and take sharp catches. This team saves at least 10 to 15 runs in every match just by their effort in the field.
Spin Attack: Control and Clever Bowling
The Wolves have three main spinners who know how to control the game. Aryan Falke leads the spin group with nearly 100 wickets across formats and bowls with a lot of control. He mixes up his pace and flights the ball well.
Amandeep Singh, who also will be eyeing 100 wickets across formats, in this season, also bowls useful overs when needed and regularly picks up wickets. Raghava Akula adds variety with his left arm spin. He is another bowler who has improved every season and is now a key part of the bowling plans.
Pace Options: Depth and Variety
One of the best things about the Wolves is their long list of fast bowling options. Akash Deep can bowl himself if needed. Prabh Majithia, Taranvir, Prabhmeet Singh, Harman and Harman Sidhu all bring pace and power. Each one of them can take the new ball or bowl at the death.
They are not over-dependent on one fast bowler. Instead, they rotate well and use different bowlers based on match situations. This gives them more control and allows their spinners to bowl with less pressure.
Outlook for 2025: Same Squad, Same Goals
The Wolves have already shown they know how to win across all formats. With the same core group returning and younger players getting more experience, they will be one of the hardest teams to beat again this year.
They have power hitters, smart bowlers, sharp fielders and leaders who know how to stay calm. If they stay fit and focused, this team has the talent to win more trophies in 2025.
