Two of Newfoundland and Labrador’s rising combat sports talents, Isabelle Quinton and Leah Quinton, are set to represent Canada on the international stage at the 2026 WAKO Turkish Open World Cup in Antalya, Turkey this May.

The Turkish Open, organized under World Association of Kickboxing Organizations, is widely regarded as one of the largest and most competitive kickboxing tournaments in the world. The event attracts elite athletes from across the globe, offering competitors an opportunity to earn international ranking points and gain valuable experience against top-tier opposition.

For Isabelle, the tournament carries added significance as she prepares to defend her World Cup title, while Leah returns to competition aiming to once again showcase her abilities on the world stage.

In a post shared on their Facebook page, the sisters announced their participation and opened up about the challenges behind competing internationally.

“We are excited to announce that we will be competing at the prestigious 2026 Turkish Open WAKO World Cup in May. Isabelle is looking to defend her World Cup title and Leah is ready to return to competition and showcase her skills on the world stage once again.”

The sisters also revealed they are currently seeking sponsorship support from individuals and businesses to help fund their journey.

“To make this journey possible, we are seeking sponsorship… Any help, big or small, is greatly appreciated. We will proudly represent our sponsors, teammates, coaches, Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada.”

Representing both their province and country, the Quintons emphasized the importance of community backing in pursuing international success.

“If you’d like to be part of our journey and sponsor us, you are not only backing us; you are fueling discipline, hard work, and the relentless pursuit of greatness.”

As they prepare to compete among the world’s best, the Quinton sisters continue to shine as a strong example of local talent rising onto the global stage.
