The Korea Cricket Association (KCA) has officially opened player applications for selection to the men’s national team that will represent South Korea in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific (EAP) Regional Qualifier 2026.
The regional qualifier is scheduled to take place from May 8 to 18, 2026, with matches hosted across Nagoya and Tokyo, Japan. Participating nations include Cook Islands, Fiji, Indonesia, Japan, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Samoa, South Korea, and Vanuatu.
Applications are open from January 26 to February 1, 2026, and players must submit their completed application forms via email to info@cricket.or.kr. Eligible candidates include Korean nationals, overseas Koreans, and foreign residents who have lived in Korea for at least three years, in line with ICC eligibility regulations.
The selection process will involve document screening as the first stage, followed by potential skill assessment trials. Around 25 players will be shortlisted for the training squad, from which a final squad of 14 will be chosen to compete in Japan. Results will be published on the official KCA website.
This announcement marks another step forward for Korean cricket, reflecting the KCA’s ongoing efforts to expand the sport’s footprint and ensure fair, transparent opportunities for both local and resident players to represent the country on the international stage.
