A measured century from 36-year-old Tarun Patel helped Riverview Rangers secure a 46-run win over Moncton Warriors in the CNB T20 2025 fixture on 27th July. The result maintains Riverview on the top of the league table with a perfect record and the highest net run rate in the competition so far.
Batting first, Riverview had a cautious start with early wickets slowing their momentum. The Warriors applied pressure in the powerplay and had the Rangers at risk of collapsing. Patel, however, held one end and gradually built a partnership that steadied the innings.

He reached his century in 53 balls, hitting 7 boundaries and clearing the rope 7 times. It is the first hundred of the 2025 CNB T20 season and came at a time when the team needed composure. His knock allowed Riverview to recover from a shaky start and build towards a competitive total.

Gurveer Singh added late-innings firepower, scoring 48 not out from just 17 deliveries. His acceleration in the final few overs ensured Riverview crossed the 200-run mark, finishing with 205 for 6 in their 20 overs.
Chasing 206, Moncton Warriors began well. Their top order showed intent, taking advantage of the fielding restrictions. But once Arun Singh was introduced into the attack, the innings began to shift. He picked up three important wickets that broke the momentum.
Arshdeep Singh then ran through the rest of the line-up with a five-wicket haul. His spell removed any hopes of a late comeback. Moncton eventually finished on 159 for 9 in 20 overs.

The win keeps Riverview unbeaten and places them at the top of the CNB T20 standings. The team now holds the strongest net run rate in the league, and Patel’s innings is likely to set the standard for batting performances in the tournament going forward.
Moncton Warriors, despite a good start with the ball and bat, were unable to capitalize in key moments and will look to regroup before their next fixture.
