USA cricketer Aaron Jones has been charged by the ICC with five breaches of the Anti-Corruption Code and has been suspended from all cricket with immediate effect. The 31-year-old has been given 14 days to respond to the charges.
Jones was part of a group of 18 USA players attending a training camp in Sri Lanka ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup. Although USA have not yet announced their final squad for the tournament, Jones is now ineligible for selection because of the suspension.
The ICC said most of the charges are linked to the 2023–24 Bim10 tournament in Barbados, which comes under the authority of Cricket West Indies. Two of the charges are related to international matches. According to the ICC, Jones is accused of trying to fix or improperly influence matches, failing to report corrupt approaches, not cooperating with anti-corruption investigators, and obstructing the investigation by hiding or tampering with important information.
The ICC also confirmed that this case is part of a wider investigation and that more charges against other individuals are likely in the future.
Jones made his international debut for USA in 2019 and went on to play 52 ODIs and 48 T20Is. During the 2024 T20 World Cup, he played a major role for USA, scoring a match-winning 94 against Canada and remaining unbeaten in a famous victory over Pakistan. He has also featured in franchise leagues such as the CPL, MLC and BPL, and last played international cricket in April 2025.
